How stock is recorded
Stock is held per product, per variant and per location. You never edit an on-hand number directly. Every change is a movement such as a receipt, a sale, a transfer or a stock count, with a reason, a user and a time.
Opening stock
Record a stock count for each location when you start, so the ledger begins from a number you trust.
Orders update stock for you
When you receive goods from a manufacturer on OmniDepo, the receipt is recorded automatically. Confirmed orders reserve stock so it is not promised twice.
Keep counts honest
If your shelf count differs from the system, record a stock count rather than adjusting an order. The difference is kept as a movement so it can be reviewed.
